‘‘I have been raised in church all my life. I was born on the opening service in our first Covenant Life building. I was always raised that church wasn’t an option and we knew we would be there any chance there was.
I was always labeled as the ‘‘pastor’s daughter’’ by myself and others but that changed. Near my high school graduation I started to think about my future and what I wanted that to look like. The weight of trying to decide what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and who I wanted to spend it with and all the other important decisions was overwhelming to me. Because of the foundation that my parents had instilled in me by making us go to church my entire life, I knew the promises that God had for my life. During that time I really took the time to establish a relationship with God for myself outside of my parents as pastors and the mundane routine of going to church and being surrounded by Godly talk. I knew that this had to be a choice I had to make for my life to live for God or not. I remembered two specific verses helped me during this time to further my relationship with God…
‘‘I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord, plans for welfare, and not evil, to give you a future and a hope’’ Jeremiah 29:11.
‘‘Delight yourself in the Lord and he shall give you the desires of your heart’’ Psalm 37:4
I got realization around this time and declared that the Lord would be my provider. The Lord wants the best for us and I knew the he would lead my life way better than I ever could on my own.
I am currently the worship pastor here at Covenant Life. I have served on the worship team for 10 years. The Lord has given me such a passion to worship. I feel so connected with God when I worship, the world honestly fades away. There is nothing better than when the Lord blesses you with a gift but in return you get to bless him with that gift. It is truly such an honor and a joy to get to worship in song but also with our lives.’’
