‘‘I began attending Covenant Life in December 2022. I currently lead the Intercessory Prayer Ministry. We are a behind-the-scenes ministry that is, I believe, foundational to the church. An intercessor is one who makes contact with God through two-way communication, desires to pray what is on the heart of God, and understands that our words are powerful to change the environment…in ourselves, others, the church, our communities, our states, our nation, and even in the world.

The Lord brought a magnificent man, Mark Main, into my life at the end of 1968, 30 days before he was to leave the U.S to spend one year in Vietnam. In that time he stole my heart and we were married, in April 1972, just ten months after he was honorably discharged from his service in the Army. We had no children of our own together, yet we have several spiritual children in our life. We lived a blessed life. He went to heaven at the end of 2019, 51 years after I met him, as a result of that service to his country in 1969.

I didn’t want to be Sharon alone but our Lord, who knows the end from the beginning, knew this would happen and He had a plan for my life as Sharon Main alone. I now walk in this new part of my destiny. My relationship with my husband Mark and the Creator of the universe led me to write a book to share with the world. Holy Spirit told me He had given me a good story and I needed to share it. My book is called “An American Girl”; it is a reflection of how the Lord has had his hand on both our lives from the day of our births into the earthly realm. Unbeknownst to me, He started preparing me to write it when I was a young teenager!

I currently live in the home we built and moved into in 1979 with my dog Ellie and my cat Ned Pike. My life is blessed as Sharon Main alone because I serve a God Who is absolutely good!’’
